NO 3RD PARTY CONTRACT TO HIRE – US, GC, or GC-EAD Senior Technical Software Engineering Lead Developer (MongoDB Specialist) Location: Remote (Preferred: Hartford, CT or Dallas, TX) About the Role We are seeking a Senior Technical Software Engineering Lead Developer with hands-on MongoDB expertise to lead a MarkLogic modernization to MongoDB initiative. This role requires deep technical skills, leadership, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders. What You’ll Do • Lead end-to-end modernization from MarkLogic to MongoDB. • Design and optimize data models, schemas, indexes, and queries for scalability and performance. • Oversee ETL processes, data quality, and validation throughout migration. • Develop migration scripts and automation using Python, JavaScript, Spring Boot, and microservices frameworks. • Leverage MongoDB Atlas and Compass, along with replication and sharding strategies. • Implement cloud migration strategies (AWS or Google Cloud). • Ensure data security (PHI, PII, PCI) with authentication and encryption best practices. • Collaborate across teams, create documentation, and mentor peers in best practices. What We’re Looking For Technical Skills • Proven hands-on MongoDB experience (Atlas strongly preferred). • SQL and relational database knowledge for migrations. • ETL, data validation, and migration experience. • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). • Programming with Python, JavaScript, Spring Boot. • Experience with microservices architecture. • Knowledge of MarkLogic/XQuery (desirable). • Understanding of Kafka design patterns (nice to have). Soft Skills • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Demonstrated leadership and accountability driving program goals. Preferred Experience • Healthcare data (members, providers, claims). • Cloud migration strategy leadership. • Certification in MongoDB, AWS, or GCP.
