Full Description

Health In Harmony is entering an ambitious phase of creative growth, requiring global visibility, donor engagement, and synergy with our global partners. The Communications Director plays a pivotal role in shaping and leading HIH’s global communications strategy - and its marketing - to expand our influence, center rainforest community voices, and fuel fundraising and advocacy goals. This role is part of the Leadership Team, working closely with the Senior Partnerships Director, program leaders, and HIH’s international affiliate teams to ensure HIH’s story is compellingly told, and marketed to a global audience. The Director closely supervises the Communications Manager and team, sets vision and narrative direction, executes when necessary, represents HIH in global media and advocacy spaces, and ensures HIH communications reflect our anti-colonial, community-centered operational ethos. About Health In Harmony HIH operates at the nexus of human well-being, environmental stewardship, and Indigenous leadership. We are protecting our climate and community wellbeing in three ways: addressing the root causes of deforestation, centering Indigenous leadership and sovereignty, and by scaling our global model for planetary health. Without action, global temperatures will rise at least 1.5 degrees Celsius over pre-industrial averages by 2030, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Health In Harmony employs human-centered design techniques to develop trust and advance solutions to global heating and the preservation of its diverse ecosystems. Reversing deforestation is Health In Harmony's first priority and distributes the majority of the resources it acquires to increase access to primary healthcare, organic farming skills, reforestation efforts, and small business creation.
