Role Overview: As a Data Center Analyst at HCLTech, you will serve as the critical on-site technical support specialist within data centers or colocation facilities. Acting as the hands and eyes for remote IT teams, you will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure, supporting business continuity and operational excellence. What You'll Do: - You will provide on-site technical support for IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and storage systems. - You will act as the on-site representative for remote IT teams, executing tasks such as hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. - You will monitor and report on the health and status of data center equipment to ensure optimal performance. - You will coordinate with vendors and service providers to facilitate repairs and upgrades. - You will maintain accurate documentation of all activities, incidents, and changes within the data center. - You will adhere to safety and security protocols to protect sensitive equipment and data. - You will assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to support future growth. - You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data center operations. What You Bring: - 5-10 years of experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure support. - Strong knowledge of server hardware, networking, and storage technologies. - Experience with remote hands support and working in colocation or enterprise data centers. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. - Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with remote teams and vendors. - Ability to follow strict safety and security procedures in a data center environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or similar. - Experience with automation tools and monitoring software. - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments. - Previous experience working in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational data center.
