Full Description

• This is OUR story... and YOUR next chapter • At HCA Healthcare, our Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) team is redefining what’s possible inpatient care. By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital technologies, DT&I is helping drive meaningful improvements in clinical outcomes, reduce manual workload, and expand the reach of our care teams. If you're passionate about using technology to improve human life, this is where your work truly matters • What you will accomplish in this role • The Safety Platform Digital Product Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Safety Platform Pod and the broader Clinical AI domain by translating patient safety and operational needs into actionable requirements, conducting discovery analyses, and producing communication and decision-support materials. This role involves gathering, organizing, and interpreting data to evaluate safety event capture workflows, vendor platforms, and AI-enabled use cases that can improve risk detection, reduce harm, and support scalable enterprise deployment. • The Analyst contributes to HCA’s Safety Platform vision of enabling a high reliability safety operating model - shifting from fragmented, isolated reporting toward an integrated approach that brings together safety signals across the enterprise to identify emerging risk earlier. This includes supporting discovery of current-state safety processes, analyzing patterns in event capture and follow-up workflows, and informing a product roadmap that advances frictionless risk reporting and proactive risk identification. • In collaboration with the Product Owner and cross-functional teams, the Analyst provides actionable insights that shape the product development lifecycle and advance HCA’s Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) mission: bringing innovative technology solutions to the clinical and administrative frontline to improve patient outcomes, empower care teams with insights, and drive greater efficiency. In this role you will be responsible for innovating safety processes, making them more intelligent, impactful, and efficient - helping clinicians provide the safest care possible and have a better experience in their work. • What you will do in this role: • Product Development Support • Collect and document safety platform workflow and business requirements, translating them into user stories and technical requirements for safety event capture, triage, and risk detection capabilities • Support discovery activities, including workflow shadowing, interviews with patient safety leaders, nursing informatics teams, and frontline clinical staff, and documentation of variability in safety event reporting, triage processes, and follow-up workflows • Define detailed key results to support pod objectives; perform analyses as needed for OKR measurement, particularly before data pipelines have been set up • Contribute to safety platform vendor analysis (e.g., Vigilanz, RL Solutions, RLDatix, or emerging AI-enabled safety tools), including comparative assessments of functionality, integration feasibility, and workflow fit • Support product owner in day-to-day tasks, particularly around sprint management • Assist with material collation and analysis in preparation for product demos, quarterly business reviews, and other report-outs for the pod • Work with Product Owner to develop Objectives and Key Results; define measurement strategies for key results (e.g., how to collect data, source system identification) and set measurement methodology • Work with other Data Engineers or other pod members to create data pipelines and analyses to measure key results automatically • Develop data dictionaries, baseline metric packs, and site-level variation analyses focused on safety event capture rates, harm classification, near-miss reporting, and follow-up completion timelines • Assist in drafting the Safety Platform Discovery Report, value logic framework, and pilot recommendation packages • Cross-functional Collaboration • Work with experience / UX designer to codify business processes and identify areas for improvement • Work with experience / UX designer to reflect user acceptance criteria in user stories • Engage patient safety directors, quality improvement leaders, nursing informatics teams, frontline clinical staff, vendor partners, and facility executives to ensure broad stakeholder input • Partner with Finance, Data & Reporting, and Corporate Development teams to align economic and operational analyses with decision-quality standards. • Work with adoption teams and process/experience designer to translate user feedback into feature specifications • Work with change management personnel to define change management strategies; work with adoption and scaling teams to help coordinate scaling Analysis and Reporting • Collect, analyze, and interpret safety platform performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities in safety event capture and risk detection • Quantify correlations between safety workflow variation (e.g., delayed event reporting, incomplete follow-up) and downstream patient harm or safety culture impacts. • Assist with material collation and analysis in preparation for product demos, quarterly business reviews, and other report-outs for the pod • Use statistical tools and data visualization techniques to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders • Create comprehensive documentation and presentation materials (including process flows, product feature details, and user guides or explanations) • Collect, analyze, and interpret product performance data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement • Develop dashboards, reports, and presentation materials for leadership updates, QBR sessions, and steering committees • Maintain a library of safety platform metrics, harm reduction ROI models, and vendor performance insights to support scaling decisions What qualifications you will need: • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Business, or related field - Required • Master's degree in a relevant field - Preferred • 5+ years’ experience in healthcare analytics, digital health, or clinical operations support, with specific exposure to patient safety systems, quality improvement programs, or healthcare safety event reporting platforms - Required • Experience in patient safety quality improvement, safety event analysis, safety culture assessment, or ROI/business case modeling in healthcare - Preferred • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams - Preferred Licenses, Certifications, & Training: • Certification in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related fields - Preferred • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies - Preferred • Training or experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, or clinical informatics - Preferred Work Location/Schedule: • Nashville, TN area (near Centennial Park) • Onsite: M-F, 8am – 5pm Travel Required: • Occasional Travel: The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
