Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Strategy and Execution is responsible for leading the development, integration, and enterprise-wide execution of strategic nursing practice and operations initiatives. This senior leadership role is critical in shaping the future of nursing operations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and driving transformational outcomes across the enterprise. Collaborating closely with the Assistant Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Group Clinical Operations and key executive stakeholders, the Director provides high-level leadership and oversight for nursing and operational initiatives that support the achievement of enterprise goals. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare trends, the ability to analyze organizational needs, identify strategic gaps, and lead interdisciplinary teams to deliver impactful and sustainable solutions. With a focus on ensuring alignment, optimizing performance, and executing complex nursing strategies, the Director will influence enterprise-wide decision-making, mitigate risks, and drive the continuous evolution of nursing operations in support of organizational excellence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, ensuring the development and execution of innovative solutions across a broad portfolio of complex projects and multidisciplinary teams, both within Nursing and across other business units. • Oversee and direct interdisciplinary teams within the Clinical Operations Group and collaborate with key stakeholders, including ITG, Performance Improvement (PI), HRG, and others, to align efforts and drive strategic objectives. • Drive the formulation and execution of the Nursing Strategic Plan across the entire Nursing Business, ensuring its integration into broader organizational strategies. • Lead the coordination and development of all Nursing Strategic Planning Deliverables, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and business objectives. • Maintain an expert understanding of HCA's overarching strategy, matrix structure, and organizational framework, influencing and shaping the company’s strategic direction to reflect evolving healthcare needs. • Proactively identify, address, and resolve high-level issues, mitigating risks to ensure the seamless execution of initiatives. • Facilitate executive-level decision-making processes, ensuring strategic alignment and consistent progress toward enterprise Nursing goals. • Regularly evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of program delivery, ensuring the highest standards of performance and providing ongoing feedback for continuous improvement. • Cultivate strong, influential relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the enterprise to drive alignment, collaboration, and the successful implementation of strategic initiatives. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE • Master’s degree preferred • Bachelor’s degree required • 7-10 years leading large enterprise-scale initiatives in a corporate environment required • 3-5 years HCA enterprise-scale healthcare experience strongly preferred • Certification in Change Management or Project Management Professional or Received within first 12 months of role • Relationship/Interpersonal Skills - demonstrated ability to build relationships and to work effectively with people of diverse social, faith, economic, and racial/ethnic backgrounds. • Strategic Thinking - ability to solve complex conceptual, operational and strategic problems with big-picture mindset • Project management – Strong project management skills to oversee and guide teams in project scoping and execution HCA Healthcare (Corporate), based in Nashville, Tennessee, supports a variety of corporate roles from business operations to administrative positions.
