If you're passionate about using technology to improve human life, this is where your work truly matters What you will accomplish in this role: Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) is responsible for data-driven, clinically led patient care through digital transformation The EHR Optimization (EHRO) team manages and optimizes the use and standard content of the enterprise EHR and informatics platforms across multiple vendors and versions (Meditech Expanse, Epic, Cerner, etc.). The EHRO team is responsible for the compliant, optimized and efficient use of informatics solutions across all acute care and post-acute care facilities. The Consulting Informaticist leverages an agile and refined process to prioritize solution needs, determine the problem to be solved while partnering with multi-disciplinary teams to use knowledge of current clinical workflows to identify solutions to address end user needs and meet stakeholder requirements. The Consulting Clinical Informaticist is responsible for driving the evaluation and implementation of changes that address standardization and optimization of the end user experience with the EHR technologies with a focus on orders, provider order sets, and transitions of care across all specialties and clinical settings. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: · Lead department projects to drive enterprise standardization and optimization of orders and admission/discharge workflows ensuring that clinical and workflow needs are met and all regulatory and enterprise corporate initiatives are appropriately considered in the design for all applicable EHR platforms (Meditech Expanse, Magic, Cerner, EPIC). · Lead collaboration with corporate service line leaders, enterprise advisory boards, division and facility leaders, and end user representatives to define informatics solutions that address the need of clinicians. · Responsible for the evaluation and prioritization of requests for changes to standard orders (nursing, consults, diet, etc.) and EHR functions related to admissions, transfers and discharges within the EHR. · Represent department in collaboration with IT&S, leading scheduled delivery of requirements to support optimization of enterprise standard content and workflows. · Lead the identification of opportunities for continued improvement in standard content and workflows for applied use of the EHR platforms. · Ensure development of appropriate communication to set clear rationale for changes to informatics technologies, EHRs, and standard content related to standard orders (nursing, consults, diet, etc.) and EHR functions related to admissions, transfers and discharges within the EHR. · Leverage broad understanding of EHR workflow functions to guide informatics solution requirements and design to achieve project objectives. · Support projects to drive technology advancements in clinical use of informatics solutions including exploration of leading-edge technologies Other · Work on other activities, as necessary, to support DT&I and Clinical Informatics strategy. · Represent EHRO in multi-disciplinary meetings · Attend key operational meetings and document attendees, discussion topics, and outcomes EDUCATION: · Bachelor’s degree required EXPERIENCE: · 7+ years related experience • Inpatient experience highly preferred At HCA Healthcare, we are committed to fostering a culture of growth that allows you to build the career of a lifetime.
