The FAS Analyst will work as part of the Financial Analysis & Services group (“FAS”), a team of non-attorney professionals operating under the firm’s tax department. The analyst will support and perform a wide range of financial analyses and calculations related to tax-exempt bond financings to ensure compliance with applicable federal tax laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include conducting detailed “arbitrage” analyses, which involve gathering and evaluating historical investment data, applying complex spreadsheet models, and determining investment returns and federal tax compliance. The analyst will prepare arbitrage reports summarizing all relevant assumptions, methodologies, and calculations for governmental clients. Additional responsibilities may include: • Developing and enhancing financial models • Preparing yield calculations and loan amortization schedules • Performing complex allocation analyses • Conducting swap/hedge analyses • Assisting with presentations, marketing materials, and technical research Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, ideally in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field • Strong understanding of fixed-income securities and general market principles • Proficiency with spreadsheet and database applications • Knowledge of accounting principles • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills • Strong written and verbal communication abilities This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days a week in-person office attendance required.
