Full Description

Architect III Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Architect has broad experience with a variety of client types and project types to have gained experience to lead projects for any client or project type. • Architect can work, in an independent manner, to deliver completed construction documents on most client and/or project types, as well as, provide high level of service for all phases of design. • Architect can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally. • Direct Design Team in research, development, and drafting of construction documents to support client building programs. • Investigate, evaluate, and recommend architectural design solutions and independently make decisions on complex architectural design problems and methods. • Work will include all aspects of construction administration leading to project completion. • Understands implications of policies and procedures to ensure supervision of design work by architect in responsible control. • Applies sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices in broad array of assignments and related fields. • Acts independently regarding architectural methods and complexities. • Requires use of advanced techniques and modification/extension of theories, precepts, and practices of individual's field. Job Duties include but are not limited to: • Expanded management responsible for program. • Establish project milestones with Design Team. • Conduct periodic progress meetings with Design Team. • Develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with clients. • Establish fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals for assigned projects. • Manage client budgets, schedules, project communications and documentation. • Assign project teams to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. • Identify changes in project scope that require additional services and manage modifications to the contract. • Maintain positive work environment within firm that facilitates cooperation, teamwork, and staff morale. • Direct training and mentoring for new and junior staff. • Communicate directly with client • Prepare material take-offs and cost of work estimates • Perform constructability reviews throughout the design process • Solicit and manage contractor and consultant bids About HFA HFA is a multidisciplinary architectural, engineering, and interior design firm who thrives in a people first driven environment. Management Requirements: 8+ staff Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in architecture or equivalent education or experience Licensure Requirements: Architectural registration with current licensure, NCARB registration preferred; LEED Green Associate accreditation desired
