Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/Title I Reading Specialist Date Posted: 1/7/2026 Location: Tau Beta School REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate w/BR, BT or BX Endorsement • Three (3) years teaching experience. • Must possess in-depth knowledge of The Science of Reading. • Demonstrate ability to facilitate small and large group instruction to achieve focused goals. • Knowledge of student individual learning styles. • Knowledge of Tier II and Tier III interventions to support student learning. • LETRS Certified (currently enrolled or willing to enroll). • Demonstrate competence in administering, interpreting and utilizing data from individual student assessments in order to improve instruction and raise student achievement. • Knowledge of MTSS. • Excellent organizational, communication, and human relation skills. JOB DUTIES are (but not limited to): • Assess and identify children at risk in literacy. • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements. • Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for reading services in individual and/or small group settings. • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. • Work collaboratively with the school instructional team to develop a comprehensive program for individual students including such activities as individualized instructional plans, small group work, and whole group instruction. • Work on various committees/teams to support students, school, and community. • Attends and participates in faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required. • Keeps abreast of developments, research, and new technology in the field of literacy education. • Participate in parent conferences. • Adhere to other duties as assigned by building principal and supervising administrators.
