Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Business Applications Manager to oversee the strategic development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise business systems in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for a technically strong professional with a proven track record in ERP management and a deep understanding of how technology can drive operational excellence on the shop floor and beyond. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of ERP experience in manufacturing, exceptional proficiency in Microsoft SQL, solid programming capabilities, and a deep appreciation for how systems like ERP, QM, and BI enable production efficiency, Finance, and supply chain. The role requires both strategic thinking and day-to-day technical execution. Key Responsibilities • Lead the administration, performance, and continuous improvement of all core business applications, including ERP, Quality Management (QM), Maintenance Management (MM), Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and other integrated platforms. • Manage and execute ERP configurations, customizations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring alignment with evolving operational and business needs. • Act as a key liaison between IT and business units, translating requirements into scalable technology solutions that streamline manufacturing and back-office workflows. • Design, build, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines to support reporting, automation, and system integrations. • Provide system support to internal users, ensuring high availability, fast issue resolution, and ongoing training where needed. • Evaluate and implement third-party applications and middleware integrations to improve efficiency, automation, and data visibility. • Maintain system integrity, security, and compliance with internal standards and industry regulations. • Create and maintain thorough documentation for workflows, system configuration, user guidelines, and technical procedures. • Manage relationships with ERP/software vendors and external consultants, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness. • Keep current with emerging technologies and recommend practical innovations to drive digital transformation in manufacturing and business operations. Required Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of ERP experience in a manufacturing setting, including hands-on implementation, customization, and support. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and optimizing complex queries and stored procedures. • Strong programming skills in .NET, Python, JavaScript, or comparable languages. • In-depth understanding of manufacturing business processes, including Inventory Management, Production Planning, Procurement, Finance, and Accounting. • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects, prioritize initiatives, and lead technology-driven change. • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities. • Effective communicator with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Tier 2 or Tier 3 ERP systems such as ROSS, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Plex, or similar. • Familiarity with Progress OpenEdge, ERP business logic, and manufacturing processes will be critical. • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Prophix, SSRS, Crystal Reports, or Power BI. • Experience integrating systems via APIs, middleware, or third-party platforms. • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership capacity is a plus. Education • MBA or Master’s degree (MSc) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred. • A BSc in a relevant field will be considered with substantial, directly applicable experience.
