Full Description

As an Assistant Manager of Claims, you must be able to engage and motivate a team of adjusters in a very fast-paced, high-volume environment to deliver excellent results and superior customer service. You are also responsible for fostering an atmosphere of accountability, coaching, and preparing members of your team to take on roles with additional responsibility, as well as performance management. This position also requires collaboration with other Assistant Managers across the department. This person works well under minimal supervision using company best practices and takes ownership of their team’s performance and their personal brand. Ready to get in the driver’s seat? Join us! What you will do Use the data available to coach to quality and consistent production within the team Deliver industry leading customer service and phone availability Provide feedback on the handling of claims and workflow Complete supplemental audits for your team Answer questions and provide technical guidance Promptly address any performance issues Assist with our catastrophic response plan Manage a personal workflow timely Create positive team morale and engagement Use your growth mindset to drive continuous improvement Be creative to help solve problems and share ideas Collaborate with others on the management team Write and/or review and approve coverage letters Review/approve reserves and payments in a timely manner Must be able to put in extra time if/as needed Triage and resolve escalated matters Conduct staff meetings Set performance objectives and goals Monitor and report out on metrics Work together to create development plans for your direct reports Lead or assist with department initiatives Interview & hire new adjusters Address any personnel matters Handle general administrative tasks related to management of a team This might describe you Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy Data and results driven Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledgeable in insurance products and expertise Exercise decisiveness and execution within your authority Must have ability to work individually and as a team Ability to maintain confidential information Strong problem-solving skills Strong time management and organizational ability Possess a keen interest in self-development Be reliable, accountable, and trustworthy Able to stay motivated and positive within a high production role Demonstrate proficiencies with computer software & multitasking Must be licensed and bondable Familiarity of public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. Other things to note This position is open to U.S. remote work. However, team members who reside within 20 miles of the Traverse City headquarters will follow a hybrid schedule, working from the office three days per week.
