Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. We are a two physician practice, located in Hackensack, NJ. Responsibilities • Perform tasks including answering multi-line phone systems, scheduling appointments, and managing patient intake. • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. • Schedule and preauthorize in office and hospital surgeries. • Conduct insurance verification and manage patient collections. • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness. • Provide clerical support to healthcare providers, including preparing care plans and managing correspondence. • Utilize EHR systems such as ModMed, Relatient and Goldn for efficient patient management and correspondence. • Ensure the front desk is organized and welcoming for patients. • Handle filing and scanning of medical records and other important documents. • Collaborate with clinical medical staff and assistants to enhance patient care delivery. • Social Media and marketing projects. Requirements • Proven experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. • Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), and billing processes (helpful). • Familiarity with EMR systems. • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines. • Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review.
