BACKGROUND Gymboree Play & Music is the world’s leading parent-child interactive play, music and arts program for children ages newborn to five years. In 2016, we celebrated 40 years of bringing play, music, arts and learning to families across the United States and around the world! RESPONSIBILITIES Programming Facilitating parent-child interactive activities. Gymboree classes include age appropriate play activities on and surrounding our custom designed play equipment, songs, parachute play, and bubbles. Lesson Plans are planned and provided. Additional Program opportunities may be available for qualified candidates. Leading birthday parties when needed. Lesson planing according to Gymboree curriculum. Sales/Customer Service Using features and benefits of Gymboree to provide information and to sell enrollments, merchandise, birthday parties and special events to new and existing customers. Answering incoming calls, making outbound calls, greeting and servicing customers. Assisting with off-site grassroots events (Mom 2 Mom Sales, Special Events, etc.) Operations Working within our online database management system. Having light knowledge of our internal system and navigating through client records. Attending designated staff meetings and trainings. Maintaining site standards, including, but not limited to: cleaning and disinfecting equipment and props, stocking of merchandise, and helping with equipment set changes. NOTE: Gymboree Play & Music provides all training necessary. KEY SKILLS AND TRAITS Experience working with children newborn to 5 years preferred A degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not mandatory Solid group leadership skills Public speaking or performance experience Sales experience Moderate computer skills Phone skills Customer service oriented Team player Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. and move play equipment Clean, neat physical appearance Flexible schedule Outgoing, enthusiastic, gregarious, creative HOURS Part-time available, all schedules will be considered. This is a permanent position that requires extensive training; serious applicants only. Flexible schedule required; classes held weekdays from 9:30 until 2:30 most days and weekends. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK ON SATURDAY TO TEACH CLASS AND SUNDAY FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES. COMPENSATION Starting pay is based on experience.
