Job Title & Employer Name: Lead Engineer, Application Development (Java) for GXO Logistics Corporate Services, Inc.   Location: Telecommuting permitted up to 100%   Salary: $131,950/year   Job Duties: Oversee the analysis, programming, and configuration of Information Technology Systems Software by providing thought leadership, architectural expertise, and designing high-quality interfaces for our innovative Angular applications. Lead the architectural design and development of Angular applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate business needs into efficient and effective technical solutions. Provide thoughtful leadership and technical guidance to drive innovation and improvements in application design and development. Research business problems, propose software solutions and mentor junior programmers in the department. Provide estimates and create functional specifications and detailed design specifications for programs to be developed. Convert system designs and technical specifications into program code for complex applications. Champion the use of light-weight architectures, modern web standards, and best practices to optimize application performance and reduce load times. Debug and troubleshoot existing program codes and correct errors as required. Provide Level-2 support to resolve systems-related issues. Oversee software releases to production in a controlled, methodical manner and verify systems are stable after patching. Participate as a high-level technical expert in design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software for third-party customers. Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and develop specifications to resolve them. Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.   Job Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (willing to accept foreign educational equivalent) and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Lead Engineer, Application Development (Java)-related occupation. Position requires demonstrable experience in: Architect and develop large scale, distributed, and web based applications using Python FastAPI, Angular, and React.js, deployed across multiple geographic regions using Google Cloud Infrastructure. Design component based, object oriented systems leveraging internet technologies, client/server architectures, relational databases, structured development practices, test methodologies, and data warehousing principles. Build flexible, component driven UI libraries and modern web interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 20.x, and React.js. Develop secure, production ready APIs using Java 12+, Python FastAPI, and Spring Framework (Boot) with minimal configuration friction. Leverage UNIX shell command knowledge to interact with Git repositories, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines, and manage containers using Docker. Install and manage system packages using yum, apt, and brew, and prepare runtime environments for application deployment. Hands on experience with PL/SQL to design, optimize, and automate data workflows supporting enterprise scale, cloud hosted applications. Strong knowledge of GCP CI/CD to design, build, automate, and operate end to end cloud native delivery pipelines, as well as Jira and Agile methodologies to effectively plan, track, and deliver high quality, iterative software solutions.Contact: Apply at https://jobs.gxo.com/job/                Indicate Req. 391558 when applying
