Summary Guidewire is searching for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with experience designing, architecting, building, and maintaining the infrastructure surrounding a suite of geospatial data microservices. As an Infra Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering behind our NextGen HazardHub microservices ecosystem, the most comprehensive set of property risk data, casualty risk data, and hazard risk scoring in the P&C insurance industry. You’ll join a team of talented API, Infra, and Data Engineers, faced with an exciting mix of greenfield and legacy projects as HazardHub continues its maturation from startup to an enterprise product within Guidewire. You’ll collaborate with our API Engineers to adopt a contract-driven API management strategy, and you’ll collaborate with our Data Engineers to build out a robust ETL infrastructure. They will look to you to create and support a deployment environment that is reliable, secure, and as toil-free as possible. Job Description Responsibilities Write Terraform modules, Helm charts, and other IaC to create and maintain cloud resources in AWS and other platforms Manage an EKS deploy environment where API engineers can develop and deploy GIS microservices in a primarily self-service model Help design and implement HazardHub’s next generation API gateway for network ingress, auth integrations, and API management Maintain secure deploy environments and assist with evidence gathering for SOC2-style audits Implement infra monitoring and alerting Assist API and Data Engineers to architect new GIS services and select the right cloud resources for the task at hand Conduct code reviews and work with peers to grow the team’s skills Develop robust CI/CD pipelines for your code in GitHub Actions, and assist other engineers in their own efforts to do the same Requirements Strong knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes; preference for EKS experience Strong knowledge of common IaC tools; preference for Terraform and Helm Broad knowledge of current API best practices, architectures, integration styles, technologies, and platforms. Knowledge of monitoring and alerting; preference for Datadog Proficiency with container image creation, Docker or otherwise Proficiency with API contracts (REST, OpenAPI, GraphQL) Proficiency with basic cloud networking (ALBs, VPCs, DNS) Proficiency with git and CI/CD; preference for GitHub Actions experience Proficiency with SQL, PostgGIS is a plus Golang experience is a plus Familiarity with risk models and other data constructs in the insurance industry is a plus. Familiarity with GIS concepts is a strong plus The US base salary range for this full-time position is $146,000 - $246,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors.
