Interconnection Analyst Location: New York City Salary: $110,000 – $120,000 A fast-growing distributed energy developer is seeking an Interconnection Analyst to join its expanding engineering team in New York City. The business develops distributed solar PV and battery energy storage projects across New York and Illinois and is entering its next phase of growth following a strong year of delivery. This is a newly created position reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, designed to provide dedicated ownership of utility interconnection across the project portfolio. This is a critical technical hire within a lean, high-performing team, offering direct exposure to leadership and meaningful responsibility from day one. What the Interconnection Analyst will do: • Support and manage distributed generation (DG) interconnection applications for solar and BESS projects • Act as a key liaison with utilities throughout the interconnection process • Review study results, upgrade requirements, and technical feedback • Coordinate with internal engineering and development teams to maintain project timelines • Support queue strategy, risk assessment, and portfolio-level interconnection planning • Help drive interconnection processes efficiently in a fast-moving development environment What You’ll Bring • Direct hands-on experience with DG utility interconnection (essential) • 2–3 years of relevant industry experience • Background in renewable energy development or electric utility environments • Strong understanding of utility processes and technical requirements at the distribution level • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (experience prioritised over formal education) • Ability to operate effectively in a small, fast-paced team environment
