Join our team and help us open more. About The Role Merchants must be one of Grubhub’s strongest differentiators in both marketing and product. Without strong, quality, and exclusive supply, we cannot win share; without effective marketing of that supply, we cannot shift diner perception or preference. The Sr. Director, Merchant Growth & Marketing Strategy will lead the charge in transforming our merchant ecosystem into a true growth engine. This leader will own the strategy and execution that ensures diners see Grubhub as the platform with the best national supply, best local supply, most exclusive restaurants, and grocery offerings. By driving merchant visibility, powering scaled marketing systems, and enabling merchant-funded growth, this role will play a pivotal part in winning preference in competitive markets like New York Metro, Chicago, LA, and Houston. Key Responsibilities • Merchant Visibility & Differentiation • Build and scale frameworks to showcase top merchants in-app and offsite (social, influencer, search, OOH, co-marketing). • Ensure exclusives and best supply are consistently positioned as centerpieces of Grubhub’s marketing across priority markets. • Partner with Product & Product Marketing to expand automated discovery systems across geographies. • Unified Merchant Growth Engine • Replace fragmented, manual processes with standardized frameworks for identifying and supporting “top merchants.” • Drive automation, promo parity, and self-serve tools that unlock scalable merchant-funded investment. • Ensure city-level strategies are reinforced by merchant-led growth levers. • Enterprise Merchant Marketing & National Reach • Lead quarterly co-branded activations with top enterprise merchants to expand national reach. • Negotiate and deliver brand-funded exclusives, new menu launches, and large-scale activations across earned, owned, and paid channels. • Partner with Merchant Network and Brand teams to maximize national visibility. • Merchant-Led Growth Channels • Equip merchants with co-marketing frameworks, toolkits, and training to independently amplify their Grubhub storefronts. • Drive adoption of merchant-funded media, off-platform activations, and new growth levers. • Build data and operationally informed processes that turn merchants into marketers in their own right, extending reach without linear resource increases. • Bold Merchant Campaigns • Develop and launch marquee campaigns that celebrate exclusives, best supply, and cultural food moments. • Position merchants as synonymous with the Grubhub brand through creative, high-visibility initiatives that reinforce diner loyalty and frequency. The Experience You Have • 12–15+ years of experience in marketing, growth, or partnerships, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. • Proven track record building scaled marketing programs that balance national reach with local impact. • Deep experience partnering with enterprise brands, negotiating marketing commitments, and executing co-branded activations. • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate company goals into bold, practical, scalable plans. • Strong cross-functional leadership across Marketing, Product, Sales, and Operations. • Data-driven approach with comfort using insights to shape strategy and measure impact. • Exceptional people leadership skills: proven success building, mentoring, and elevating high-performing teams. Base Salary: $222,500-$271,500 Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office.
