The Associate Director will be responsible for detailed accounting and financial reporting activities for Group 1001 and its subsidiaries. This includes preparing financial statements, supporting regulatory filings, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate the financial statement close process.
A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required along with 5+ years of experience in accounting and reporting. CPA certification is preferred, and experience in statutory accounting and NAIC reporting in the life insurance industry is necessary.

Why The Role Matters: The Accounting & Separate Account Reporting Associate Director position will be responsible for the detailed accounting and financial reporting activities for Group 1001 and subsidiaries. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the AVP, Finance/Accounting. In this position you will record, process, and summarize the information for financial accounting and reporting for Separate Accounts including NAIC reporting and maintaining various account balances. In this role you will collaborate with a dynamic finance and accounting team utilizing your strong accounting, problem-solving, and communication skills. How You'll Contribute: Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and support regulatory filings in a multi-company environment. Develop new and ad hoc accounting reports as necessary Collaborate across departments, including but not limited to the investments, actuarial and tax departments, and the Company’s TPA’s to facilitate the monthly financial statement close process and year-end financial statements preparation. Prepare and review complex general ledger account reconciliations Prepare and analyze financial reports, including statements of operations and balance sheets, for submission to the NAIC. Develop and maintain key financial processes, procedures, and internal control documentation Work with external auditors and research to determine appropriate accounting and reporting What We're Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required 5+ years of experience in accounting and reporting CPA preferred Previous experience with statutory accounting, and GAAP accounting in the life insurance industry is required Previous experience with NAIC reporting Experience with Workday and Office Connect a plus. Experience with statutory reporting software (Wings/SOVOS) a plus Advanced working knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong work professional work ethic, integrity, and team-oriented Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ownership, and accountability Benefits Highlights: Employees who meet benefit eligibility guidelines and work 30 hours or more weekly, have the ability to enroll in Group 1001’s benefits package.
