About the Role We are seeking a Sales Director – US (Software) to lead market development and commercial growth for Grid8’s grid interconnection software platform. This role will engage utilities, renewable developers, consultants, and other stakeholders who benefit from accelerating interconnection studies, improving modeling workflows, and making more informed siting and queue decisions. As our key US software sales hire, you will build the go-to-market motion, drive early adoption, and manage the full enterprise sales cycle. This position involves significant travel across the United States for customer meetings, demos, evaluations, and industry events. Key Responsibilities Market Development • Build the US market for the grid interconnection software platform-targeting datacenters, renewable developers, consultants, and ISO/RTO stakeholders. • Identify customers experiencing interconnection bottlenecks, long study timelines, or complex queue decision-making challenges. • Drive awareness of how predictive modeling and workflow improvements create strategic value for planning and development teams. Technical Sales & Demonstrations • Lead product demos and technical discussions related to interconnection processes, system modeling, queue analysis, and grid constraints. • Guide customers through evaluation phases, including data requirements, model setup, and performance analysis. • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address customer feedback and refine solution positioning. Commercial Ownership • Prepare proposals, pricing structures, and commercial agreements. • Navigate utility and enterprise procurement processes involving technical, legal, and regulatory stakeholders. • Maintain clarity, responsiveness, and momentum throughout long-cycle software deals. Customer & Implementation Support • Support customer onboarding and early implementations in coordination with product and engineering teams. • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact throughout evaluations and post-sale engagement. • Provide structured customer insights to inform product roadmap and feature development. Qualifications • Experience selling enterprise SaaS or technical software solutions, ideally within utilities, renewable development, or grid planning. • Strong understanding of interconnection workflows, ISO/RTO processes, or power systems modeling. • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and executive audiences. • Startup-ready: autonomous, proactive, and comfortable building processes from scratch. • Willingness to travel extensively across the US. Work Authorization • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Location & Compensation Location: Remote (United States) with significant travel Compensation: Base salary + commission structure (uncapped) + stock options
