GPI seeks motivated and experienced Resident Engineers to supervise professional or technical staff while managing the day-to-day activities related to construction management and administrative/financial matters for assigned projects throughout Long Island and NYC. Ideally, we seek someone with a good work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work collectively with our team and clients, and the ability to work on concurrent projects. Responsibilities: • Ensuring construction work is performed per contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes and standards • Making sure that construction work is performed safely, completed on schedule, and within budget • Reviewing and confirming daily narratives, daily labor, and time and material reports are completed accurately and on a timely basis • Coordination of construction work with facility operations, maintenance, other contractors, and other stakeholders • Reviewing contract drawings for constructability, staging, and logistics Qualifications: • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field • PE is required, and an ASCE V • Project experience $100 M or higher is a plus • 12+ years of experience in multi-discipline transportation construction projects, with extensive experience managing construction work for public agencies such as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, MTA agencies, NYCDOT, and /or NYSDOT • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Primavera, Site Manager, and/or other contract management tools Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.) • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
