Please note, this is a very junior role. 1 maybe 2 years experience is ideal. Position: Jr Analyst/Analyst, Operations Staff Job Description: The Jr Analyst/Analyst position is responsible for various financial administration and control procedures performed for client accounts. Responsibilities: • Record quarterly valuations and other financial information into the firms portfolio management system based on review and analysis of private equity fund financial statements. • Verify accuracy of the firms records through quarterly reconciliation of transaction activity per the firms portfolio management systems and private equity fund financial information. • Ensure portfolio transaction and valuation information is effectively recorded by clients through comparison of information per the firms portfolio management systems to third-party broker and trustee statements. • Review quarterly reported net asset values and assess the reasonableness of private equity partnership valuation methodologies used to arrive at such valuations. • Maintain underlying portfolio company database on a quarterly basis and update with financial information (i.e. cost, value, stage of investment, industry, location, investment date) extracted from partnership financial statements. • Interact with clients, partnerships and trustees to resolve issues relating to client investment portfolios and carry out ad hoc projects. Requirements: • Degree in accounting or finance from reputable college • Strong computer skills--Excel, Word, Access • Effective organizational, communication and problem-solving skills • Self-motivated individual with strong time-management skills • A team player eager to learn private equity investment management business • Up to two years relevant work experience
