High school diploma or equivalent, experience in consulting or IT, exposure to project management methodologies, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with collaboration tools.
Position Summary The Junior Project Manager supports the operational, administrative, and coordination activities necessary to deliver cybersecurity consulting services and CMMC assessment engagements within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). This role works closely with Lead CCAs, assessment teams, consultants, OSC clients, sales teams, and operations leadership to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, documentation is maintained, deliverables are tracked, and internal processes align with quality and compliance expectations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in cybersecurity consulting and project operations. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Support • Assist in planning, scheduling, organizing, and monitoring cybersecurity consulting projects and assessments. • Track project milestones, deadlines, risks, dependencies, and deliverable status. • Coordinate kick-off meetings, client communications, and recurring project touchpoints. • Maintain project plans, action logs, Risk/Actions/Issues/Decisions (RAID) logs, and communications trackers. • Support resource allocation by ensuring the right consultant is assigned to the right task at the right time. Operational Support • Assist with development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, and workflows for business processes. • Update dashboards and operational metrics (e.g., sales, pipeline, project status, utilization, forecasting, etc.) for leadership reporting. • Support documentation management including version control, repository organization, and quality checks. • Facilitate cross-team coordination across sales, technical consulting, finance, and operations. Client & Stakeholder Management • Serve as a supporting liaison between OSC clients and internal teams throughout project execution. • Ensure timely communication, clarifications, scheduling, and delivery of required documentation. • Help maintain OSC client satisfaction by supporting the timely resolution of issues, risks, and blockers. Project Documentation & Quality Assurance • Prepare meeting summaries, action items, agendas, and project artifacts. • Assist with collecting required evidence, deliverables, and documentation from internal teams, as needed. • Support quality reviews to ensure deliverables meet internal standards and contractual requirements, as needed. Financial & Contractual Support • Track project budgets, hours, and forecasts. • Support invoicing processes by validating project milestones or deliverable-based billing triggers. • Help ensure contract and Statement of Work (SOW) requirements are understood and followed during execution. Key Competencies • Organization & Time Management: Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Communication: Clear, professional, and proactive with internal teams and clients. • Critical Thinking: Able to identify risks, gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. • Team Orientation: Works well collaboratively and supports cross-functional teams. • Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving project requirements. • Professionalism: Maintains confidentiality, follows processes, and supports a compliance-driven culture. • High School Diploma or equivalent • Prior experience in Consulting, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity services. • Exposure to Project Management methodologies (Agile, Lean, PMI, PRINCE2, Scrum, or similar). • Experience with driving stakeholder and executive engagement. • Experience with collaboration and work management platforms (Office, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, etc.). • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general project management tools. • Desire to attain CMMC CCP designation or already have one Preferred • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field—or equivalent experience. • 10 or more years of solid experience managing an Information Security consulting program portfolio with several concurrent projects at a large Consultancy (e.g., Big Four) or MSP/MSSP with multiple stakeholders and matrixed leadership • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or PRINCE2. • Interest in cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, NIST CSF, or ISO 27001.
