Spray Booth Finisher (Trainee) — Job Description Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated individual to join our finishing department as a Spray Booth Finisher (Trainee). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to learn a specialized craft. No prior spray booth experience is required. Key Responsibilities • Prepare wood components for finishing, including sanding, wiping, and prepping surfaces. • Operate spray booth equipment to apply finishes such as stains, sealers, primers, and topcoats. • Learn and follow proper spray techniques, including gun handling, coverage patterns, and finish consistency. • Follow daily training modules and skill checkpoints designed by the Finishing Lead. • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met. • Maintain clean and organized workstations. • Follow all safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage and booth ventilation protocols. • Assist with basic upkeep of spray equipment, with training on troubleshooting, cleaning, and minor adjustments. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. • Interest in craftsmanship, fabrication, woodworking, auto refinishing, model-making, or similar hands-on hobbies is a plus. • No prior finishing or spray experience required — ideal for someone early in their career or looking to develop a skilled trade. Preferred Experience (Not Required) • Experience in woodworking, auto body, cabinet finishing, or similar fields. • Exposure to any spray equipment (shop, hobby, or auto) is a bonus but not necessary.
