About the Role: The Physical Education Teacher at Faxon Academy plays a crucial role in promoting the physical, social, and emotional well-being of students through a comprehensive physical education program. This position is responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that foster a love for physical activity and healthy living. The teacher will assess students' physical abilities and provide tailored instruction to meet diverse needs, including those of students with special educational requirements. By creating a positive and inclusive environment, the Physical Education Teacher will encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among students. Ultimately, the goal is to instill lifelong fitness habits and a strong sense of self-esteem in every student. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field. * State certification or licensure to teach Physical Education. * Experience working with children in an educational or athletic setting. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Physical Education or a related field. * Experience in coaching or leading athletic programs. * Knowledge of adaptive physical education practices for students with special needs. Responsibilities: * Design and deliver age-appropriate physical education lessons that align with curriculum standards. * Assess and evaluate students' physical fitness levels and progress, providing feedback and support. * Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, inclusive environment for all students during physical activities. * Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate wellness and fitness concepts across the curriculum. * Organize and supervise extracurricular athletic programs and events, promoting student participation and engagement.
