Role Overview: As a Senior Systems Engineer at GovCIO, you will play a pivotal role in managing and supporting complex IT infrastructures. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of servers, workstations, and applications within a Windows Active Directory environment, supporting critical government operations. What You'll Do: - You will provide tier 3 operational support and administration for servers, workstations, and applications. - You will manage and maintain Windows Active Directory environments to ensure system integrity and security. - You will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain service levels. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system upgrades and patches. - You will monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to optimize infrastructure. - You will document system configurations, procedures, and incident reports. - You will support security compliance efforts by implementing best practices and responding to audits. - You will mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team. What You Bring: - You have at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a related IT role. - You possess an active Secret clearance. - You have strong expertise in Windows Server administration and Active Directory management. - You are proficient in troubleshooting complex system and network issues. - You have experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. - You demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in a government or defense contracting environment. - Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards. - Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or CompTIA Security+. - Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
