Role Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer at GovCIO, you will play a vital role in supporting the Navy’s Fleet Submarine Very Low and Low-Frequency Broadcast Engineering Support team. This position involves providing technical expertise and hands-on support to ensure the operational readiness and effectiveness of submarine broadcast systems. What You'll Do: - You will provide mechanical engineering support for the maintenance and enhancement of submarine broadcast systems. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. - You will conduct detailed analysis and testing of mechanical components to ensure system reliability. - You will develop and review technical documentation, including schematics and maintenance procedures. - You will participate in onsite support activities, including installation, repair, and upgrades. - You will ensure compliance with Navy standards and safety regulations. - You will travel up to 35% to various Navy facilities to provide direct engineering support. What You Bring: - You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - You have at least 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in defense or maritime environments. - You possess strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes. - You have experience with technical documentation and engineering drawings. - You demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - You are able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working with Navy or military broadcast systems. - Familiarity with Very Low and Low-Frequency broadcast technologies. - Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one. - Experience with CAD software and mechanical design tools.
