Applicants in the County of Los Angeles: Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.Minimum qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. • 8 years of experience in software development. • 5 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent. • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications: • Experience in technical leadership and managing engineering teams. • Experience with highly scalable and reliable distributed systems. • Experience in people management within a technical environment. • Ability to contribute to both front-end and back-end development, and willingness to learn full-stack development principles. • Excellent communication, discussion, and collaboration skills. Ads Marketing and Sales are a key driver for a healthy and growing Ads business. Over the next 10 years, the Ads business will grow to a rare size and scale amongst all businesses in history. The organization's goal is to to build the appropriate technical solutions/products to help drive Google’s overall business via Ads Marketing and its intersection with Google Sales. Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities • Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers; scope for management job ladder is possible in the future, but not required. • Define, iterate, and communicate team goal, strategy, and roadmap, in partnership with Product Managers and Program Managers. • Provide technical expertise throughout the product life-cycle including design, implementation, and delivery of scalable services and infrastructure. • Possess design skills and a passion for writing high-quality, maintainable code. • Ability to pick up and work through new technologies quickly.
