About The Job Search is core to Google’s identity and mission to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. The Search comms team is responsible for telling the story of Search’s next chapter in the age of AI – from the products we launch to the trust we build in our platform to how we showcase momentum and growth. In this role you’ll be a key player in developing strategies and scaling programs to showcase how Search is transforming to new audiences, with a particular focus on showing growth and business momentum. We’re looking for a candidate who can think big picture and pay close attention to details, who can work across functions and PAs and is excited about Search and its future. As a Communications Manager, you’ll be part of a team focused on thought leadership and highlighting momentum for Search, driving stories about the future of the company’s flagship product. You will work with the media to land stories, interviews, and other media opportunities, and help coordinate across business and sales teams within Google. You will be responsible for vetting, preparing and executing public speaking and press opportunities for Search executives and representatives across the company. This includes keynote speeches, roundtables, broadcast and podcast interviews and more. You will work closely with international teams on press opportunities and local public appearances. You will also design and implement a spokesperson training program so that more leaders across the company are able to speak confidently about the transformation of Search. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities • Serve as the product communications lead to empower teams across Google to extend the future of Search narrative to new audiences. • Build and maintain relationships with a broad swath press, including new media, creators, and tech and business press. • Execute an ongoing thought leadership program that includes finding and managing speaking opportunities, press visits and events across regions for Search leaders. • Expand the bench of Search spokespeople. Develop and execute media training programs to keep our spokespeople and stakeholders up-to-date on our narrative, and adept at navigating a wide range of topics and issues related to Search and Google overall.
