Purchasing Manager Crestwood/Oak Lawn, IL We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations for a high-volume food production facility in the Crestwood / Oak Lawn area. This role is responsible for sourcing raw materials and packaging, managing supplier relationships, controlling inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that partners closely with Production, Quality, Logistics, and Finance to support efficient, uninterrupted operations. What You’ll Do • Manage purchasing of ingredients, raw materials, packaging, and supplies • Forecast material needs based on production schedules and demand • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships • Ensure all materials meet food safety, regulatory, and quality standards • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency improvements • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals • Maintain accurate purchasing records and reporting using ERP systems What We’re Looking For • 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a food manufacturing or production environment (required) • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality systems • Experience with ERP systems and purchasing software • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred Work Environment & Schedule • Full-time, on-site role • Minimum 50 hours per week • Combination of office and warehouse environment • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around production and warehouse operations Why This Role • High-impact position supporting core production operations • Opportunity to influence cost control, supplier strategy, and inventory efficiency • Stable, long-term role within a food production environment JOB ID: 170397 #post Dustin Durrenberger
