Date: January 2026 TITLE:Project ManagerRESPONSIBLE TO:Chief Administrative Officer DIVISION/DEPT:Office of the PresidentSUPERVISES:YesFLSA STATUS:Exempt SUMMARY: Goodwill Industries International, Inc. (GII) is executing an ambitious strategic plan to support a network of nearly 150 Goodwill organizations across North America, and the Project Manager is responsible for driving high‑priority, enterprise‑level initiatives to turn this strategy into action. Serving as the primary driver of project execution, this role leads planning, execution, and delivery of priority projects focused on workforce development, retail and donated goods, and environmental stewardship to ensure disciplined, effective and timely execution. By coordinating cross‑functional teams and partnering with Goodwill members, the Project Manager will accelerate progress, strengthen alignment, and ensure initiatives deliver measurable, strategy‑aligned results. BASIC FUNCTION:     The Project Manager leads complex, cross‑functional projects from concept through execution, ensuring scope, timelines, resources, risks, and outcomes are actively managed. This position is responsible not only for coordination but for driving momentum, decisions, and follow‑through to achieve results. The role supervises a Project Administrator who provides logistical and administrative support, enabling the Project Manager to focus on leadership, stakeholder engagement, problem‑solving, and delivery of priority initiatives aligned with GII’s strategic plan. SPECIFIC DUTIES1: Project Leadership and Delivery * Lead multiple priority initiatives aligned with GII’s strategic plan, from initiation through completion. * Own project outcomes, timelines,& deliverables; proactively address risks, barriers & dependencies. * Serve as the primary driver of work, ensuring progress even in complex, matrixed environments. * Apply GII’s New Product Development (NPD) process with rigor and consistency across projects. Planning, Execution, and Control * Develop and maintain project charters, workplans, schedules, and resource plans. * Establish clear milestones, success measures, and decision points. * Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure successful delivery. * Ensure disciplined change management, issue resolution, and documentation. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication * Partner closely with internal teams and Goodwill members to align objectives, roles, & expectations. * Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and decision forums. * Provide clear, concise, and audience appropriate status updates to senior leaders & stakeholders. * Drive accountability by clarifying next steps, owners, and timelines. Supervision and Team Enablement * Supervise and coach the Project Administrator, delegating logistical and administrative tasks. * Ensure effective use of project tools, templates, and documentation. * Foster aresultsoriented, collaborative project environmentwith otherleaders. Continuous Improvement and Organizational Support * Identifyopportunities to improve project management practices, tools, and routines. * Capture lessons learned andcontributeto organizational knowledge and capability building. * Support broader enterprise initiatives as needed to advance GII’s mission and strategy. RELATIONSHIPS: * Internal: Daily collaboration with GII team members across departments to plan, execute, and deliver strategic initiatives. * GII Goodwill Members:Regular engagement with Goodwill members to ensure projects address member needs and deliver practical, missionaligned value. * Outside: Occasional contact with external stakeholders including but not limited to government, business and industry, workforce development groups, national and service organizations. 1All duties are considered to be essential, unless otherwise indicated. SKILLS NEEDED2: * Strong project managementexpertisewith the ability to lead complex, crossfunctional initiatives.  * Demonstrated ability todrive work forward, make decisions, and hold teams accountable for results. * Excellent planning, organizational, andproblem-solvingskills.  * Strong written, verbal, and facilitation skills for diverse and senior audiences.  * Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed environment.  * Familiarity withkey project management software, tools, orsimilar stage-gateprocesses.  * Proficiencywith project management and collaboration tools. 2All skills and abilities are considered to be essential, unless otherwise indicated. EDUCATION: Undergraduate degree in business, organizational development, social/human services, or a related field; five (5) or more years of project management experience required. EXPERIENCE: * PMP certificationor likeproject manager certification preferred. * Demonstrated success leading multiple complex projects simultaneously in fast‑paced environments. * Proven ability to drive execution, manage ambiguity, and deliver resultsin a matrixed organization. * Experience applying disciplined methodologies to new initiatives or product development. * Demonstrated experience using project management software to plan, track, and report on complex projects, including managing schedules, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across cross‑functional teams. DECISION MAKING: Management decisions related to project scope, priorities, timelines, risk mitigation, and resource allocation. SUPERVISION: Regular – Latitude is given to manage work assignments and supervise the Project Administrator. Work is reviewed for alignment with goals and outcomes. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Sedentary. Lifting – 10 lbs. maximum. Some travel (about 10-20% of time or less) required. EMOTIONAL EFFORT: Moderate; occasional short deadlines and periods of high activity.
