Full Description

Who We Are GoodShip is the first all-in-one platform for freight orchestration and procurement. Our innovative software helps shippers optimize their truckload freight spend and service outcomes while enhancing collaboration among internal teams and carrier partners. The US domestic truckload freight market is massive – the industry generated revenues of $941 billion across 11.46 billion tons of product shipped in 2022. Our technology is optimizing freight outcomes for our customers, a rapidly growing roster which includes some of the industry’s largest and most recognizable brands. Our software automates previously tedious and resource-intensive tasks, and unites disparate data sources to provide a holistic view of network performance. We provide shippers with best-in-class intelligence, a purpose-built procurement workflow, and the tools to collaborate more effectively and initiate corrective action directly within the GoodShip platform. We’re backed by A-list venture firms and founders of industry-leading FreightTech companies, and were recently recognized in the FreightWaves FreightTech 25 and the BCV x Headline Vertical SaaS 50. With ample financial backing and strong traction, we’re seeking a talented Platform Data Analyst to join us on the ground floor and help bring ultra-modern transportation technology to market. About the Role At GoodShip, data integrity is a core pillar of our platform—our customers depend on accurate, timely, and trustworthy data to run their supply chains. As a Platform Data Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in upholding that standard by partnering with engineers and technical product managers to build, validate, and troubleshoot the data pipelines that power both internal workflows and external customer-facing metrics. This is a foundational role in building out a high-trust, high-impact data function at GoodShip. You’ll be part of the team responsible for ensuring the metrics we share with customers are accurate, meaningful, and explainable. Embedded within the engineering organization, you’ll work closely with both engineers and product managers to scale data integrity and visibility across the company. The role may also involve occasional customer interactions to troubleshoot issues or refine metric definitions. You Will Define, implement, and maintain core customer-facing metrics that are accurate, well-documented, and resilient to change Investigate data quality concerns, pipeline issues, and metric discrepancies, partnering with engineering to identify root causes and resolve them Analyze and transform large datasets to generate insights and create foundational tables that support both internal tooling and customer-facing experiences Develop and maintain data validation, monitoring, and quality-assurance processes to ensure consistency and completeness across the platform Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, technical product managers, and customer-facing teams to understand and translate data requirements Build internal documentation, queries, and lightweight tooling that enable others at GoodShip to confidently use and trust platform data The Ideal Candidate Strong SQL fluency, including experience with complex joins, CTEs, and window functions Proficiency with Excel and modern analytics or BI tools (e.g., dbt, Metabase, or similar) Experience with data quality, validation frameworks, or data observability tooling Comfort defining metrics and clearly articulating how they are calculated and interpreted Strong analytical mindset and experience working closely with engineers in a sprint-based development environment Excellent written communication skills, particularly when explaining data logic to non-technical audiences Benefits Competitive salary and meaningful equity in GoodShip 100% employer-paid health benefits Unlimited PTO Winter break during the December holidays Fully remote work environment Destination team off-sites
