The Project Manager I plays a critical role in driving the successful execution of strategic initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager I collaborates with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, manage timelines, mitigate risks, and ensure stakeholder alignment. While primarily leading smaller-scale projects, they also contribute to larger, more complex initiatives under the guidance of senior project managers. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), and have proficiency in project management tools. Qualifications Education Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Healthcare Management, Management Information Systems, or similar degree. • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Licenses/Certifications Required: • None Work Experience Required: • 2+ years of project management experience, preferably within a professional services environment Preferred Qualifications, Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience, etc.: • Healthcare experience preferred • CAPM or PMP preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Understanding of project management principles and terminology as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI), including scope, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder management. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences, stakeholders and internal/external customers. • Familiarity with project management methodologies with exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies. Understanding of when and how to apply each approach based on project needs. • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, ClickUp, or similar platforms to track progress, manage tasks, and communicate with stakeholders. • Strong attention to detail with a proactive mindset toward identifying risks, resolving issues, and ensuring project milestones are met. • Ability to work through ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to creative problem-solving in cross-functional teams • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in matrixed or cross-functional environments where reporting lines and responsibilities may be shared across teams or departments. • This role involves interaction and collaboration with other departments and requires excellent judgement and interpersonal skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Planning and Coordination: • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones in alignment with organizational goals and objectives for smaller-scale projects. • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables, typically involving coordination between two functional areas. • Support senior PMs on larger, cross-functional projects by managing specific project deliverables and assisting with planning, scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder communication. • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools. Risk Management and Issue Resolution: • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or quality for smaller scale projects. • Identify and escalate issues that require senior-level support or broader organizational knowledge. • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address challenges proactively. • Facilitate resolution of issues and conflicts, ensuring minimal disruption to project progress. Stakeholder Communication: • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders of smaller-scale projects, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and key deliverables. • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with project objectives and requirements for smaller-scale projects. • Effectively communicate technical concepts and project progress to non-technical stakeholders if needed. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain accurate project documentation, including requirements, specifications, and progress reports, for smaller-scale projects. Prepare and present project status reports, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders and management, for smaller-scale projects. Physical Requirements • Office Environment: Tasks may be conducted within a climate-controlled office setting. • Physical Activity: The role may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment (up to 10-25 lbs.) Duties typically involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent changes in position. • Travel: Travel may be required, including travel between Company locations and out-of town destinations as needed. • Safety Equipment: May require the use of safety equipment for infection prevention.
