Role Overview: As the Manager of Data Science, you will lead a talented team of data scientists to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your role is pivotal in developing innovative analytical solutions that enhance user experience, optimize platform performance, and support GoFundMe’s mission to help people help each other. What You'll Do: - You will lead and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. - You will design and implement advanced machine learning models to improve fraud detection and user engagement. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and marketing to translate business needs into analytical projects. - You will analyze large datasets to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities for growth. - You will develop dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders effectively. - You will oversee the deployment and monitoring of data science solutions in production. - You will stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the data science capabilities. - You will contribute to strategic planning by providing data-driven recommendations. What You Bring: - 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. - Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. - Strong background in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization. - Experience working with large-scale data platforms and cloud services like AWS or GCP. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Proven track record of managing and delivering data science projects end-to-end. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the crowdfunding or fintech industry. - Knowledge of A/B testing and experimental design. - Familiarity with big data tools such as Spark or Hadoop. - Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
