Provide on-site hardware vendor coordination, rapid troubleshooting and repair of data center equipment, support multi-time zone clients, assist infrastructure delivery, and maintain GPU/CPU compute and storage systems.
Requires 3+ years in data center or systems engineering, strong Linux and hardware troubleshooting skills, experience with GPU compute platforms and enterprise storage, scripting abilities, and familiarity with data center physical operations and networking basics.
On-site 5x8 Data Center Operations Engineer – Denver Facility Fulfill method: Add in Unitech scope or GMI cloud hiring. 5*8 weekly Business Need: As our infrastructure footprint in the Denver data center continues to grow, the demand for timely, on-site support and efficient coordination with hardware vendors and clients across multiple time zones is increasing significantly. To ensure consistent operations, minimize downtime risks, and improve client satisfaction, we propose adding a dedicated 5x8 Data Center Operations Engineer based in Denver. Justification & Key Responsibilities: 1.Vendor Coordination & On-site Support Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site repair and service coordination with hardware vendors such as Supermicro, HPE Cray, and Wistron. This will streamline hardware RMA processes, reduce ticket resolution times, and ensure accountability during on-site interventions. 2.Rapid Issue Resolution for Critical Incidents Provide initial troubleshooting for faulty equipment and act as first-line support during outages or hardware alerts. For priority clients, this engineer can quickly intervene to reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR), avoiding prolonged downtimes that could result in service-level agreement (SLA) breaches and financial penalties. 3.Multi-Time Zone Client Support Bridge the gap between infrastructure operations and customers in varying time zones. By working during standard business hours in Denver, the engineer can effectively support both U.S.-based and international clients, ensuring timely delivery and communication. 4.ISP & Network Incident Response Act as the on-site liaison when network incidents or ISP issues arise. This role enables faster diagnosis and local coordination, improving time to resolution and reducing business impact from internet or interconnection disruptions. 5.Infrastructure Delivery Assistance Support the Infra Team by preparing and handing off dedicated servers to clients in multiple time zones. This includes hardware prep, validation, and basic configuration steps, enabling our global teams to maintain delivery velocity without time zone constraints. Perform physical data center work including racking, stacking, labeling, cabling, and replacing hardware components. Operate and maintain GPU/CPU compute nodes, and storage systems, ensuring stability and performance. Troubleshoot issues across compute, accelerator, and storage systems (Linux OS, drivers, firmware, hardware). Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Compute Science or related field. • Over 3+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure, or systems engineering. • Strong knowledge of Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL). • Hands-on experience with GPU compute platforms (NVIDIA GPUs, drivers). • Solid understanding of CPU server systems and enterprise storage platforms (NVMe, SAN, NAS, object storage). • Familiarity with OEM hardware platforms (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, Wistron). • Hardware troubleshooting expertise across compute, storage, and accelerator components. • Ability to perform hands-on data center support including cabling and FRU replacement. • Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, Ansible). • Familiar with DC operations such as power distribution, air or liquid cooling environment, structured cabling, cable management, DCIM software, and hardware inventory tools. • Experience managing large-scale GPU/CPU compute clusters or HPC environments. • Familiarity with basic networking concepts (Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP) and exposure to network operations (InfiniBand, RoCE, BGP, VXLAN) – added advantage. Meeting every qualification is not required—if you’re excited about this role, we’d love to hear from you.
