Automation Engineer (UI + API) – 2 Positions Available Mid & Senior Level Duration: 12 Months Start: January 2026 (Resumes due 12/23) Location: Remote – EST Time Zone Work Hours We are supporting a large retail POS modernization and migration initiative, hiring two Automation Engineers (Mid & Senior) to stand up the first automation program for a next-generation POS platform. This is an early-stage, high-impact role for engineers who want to build automation from the ground up, influence tooling, standards, strategy, and shape how quality is delivered across a major retail transformation. (Retail POS experience is highly preferred.) You will take ownership of UI and API automation for POS and web applications supporting core retail workflows. This role is built for engineers who want autonomy and influence, not just test execution. You will help define how automation is built, executed, and scaled across releases. Responsibilities • Design and build scalable UI + API automation frameworks • Automate critical POS and web workflows (pricing, promotions, transactions, item data, loyalty, etc.) • Build data-driven regression suites and improve execution speed, test coverage, and release confidence • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines • Support continuous testing and faster deployment validation • Create clear automation reporting and dashboards for stakeholders • Senior Engineers: Define standards, mentor others, and own long-term automation strategy Highly Preferred • Retail POS testing experience • Experience supporting POS migrations or modernization initiatives • Exposure to pricing, promotions, loyalty, item master, merchandising, etc. • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management and defects Required Skills & Experience • Strong hands-on experience with UI and API automation • Experience building, extending, or owning automation frameworks • CI/CD and Git-based workflow experience • Backend/service validation and data-driven testing mindset • Ability to evaluate and recommend automation tools (e.g. Selenium) • Experience with test reporting, results visibility, and failure analysis Mid-Level vs Senior Expectations • Mid-Level: Contribute within an automation framework, expand UI/API regression coverage, and work with CI/CD pipelines • Senior: Own framework design, tooling decisions, CI/CD strategy, and mentorship framework
