Manufacturing Cost Accountant / FP&A Analyst (Turning Production Data into Profit Clarity) Be the financial lens that transforms the production floor into strategic insight. We’re looking for a manufacturing-savvy finance professional who thrives at the intersection of numbers, operations, and strategy. In this role, you’ll own product costing, margin analysis, and financial visibility across the plant, ensuring leadership has the insights they need to make smart, profitable decisions. Why This Role Exists To prove profitability by increasing visibility through: • Delivering accurate, timely, and granular financial and operational data • Translating raw production inputs into clear cost and margin insights • Partnering with leadership to drive forecasting, planning, and performance analysis What You’ll Do • Cost Accounting Ownership – Track, reconcile, and analyze costs across labor, materials, overhead, and yield. • Margin Analysis – Deliver contribution margin reporting by product, customer, and business type. • Inventory & Variance Analysis – Reconcile inventory, identify variances (labor, yield, downtime), and recommend process improvements. • Budgeting & Forecasting – Support leadership with forward-looking financial models, scenario planning, and cost forecasts. • Financial Reporting – Build monthly P&L segmentation, variance reports, and KPI dashboards for both plant operations and executives. • Continuous Improvement – Digitize manual workflows, streamline reporting processes, and ensure accuracy of financial inputs. Your First Six Months 30 Days – Learn core ERP cost structures (purchasing, sales, inventory, labor inputs). 60 Days – Deliver first draft of contribution margin analysis; trace production costs end-to-end. 90 Days – Build semi-automated margin & variance tools; segment P&L by product line. 120 Days – Launch KPI dashboards; reconcile labor, material, and yield variances; support month-end close. 180 Days – Fully own product costing, margin analysis, and financial reporting; provide insights within 5 days of month-end close. What You Bring • Manufacturing finance fluency – yield, WIP, overhead, cost, and margin concepts • Strong analytical toolkit – Excel mastery (pivots, formulas, modeling), SQL familiarity, BI dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) • Accounting fundamentals – solid grasp of P&L, variance analysis, reconciliations • Operational curiosity – ability to walk the shop floor, understand processes, and translate them into financial impacts • Problem-solving instinct – strong “financial intuition” with attention to detail and accuracy Bonus Points For • Prior experience in cost accounting or FP&A in a manufacturing environment • Knowledge of ERP systems and cost flow mapping • Experience building custom models and automated reporting tools • Strategic insight—turning numbers into action plans for leadership In short: You’ll be the financial translator of manufacturing operations, turning production data into meaningful insights that drive cost control, efficiency, and long-term profitability.
