GSGNY’s vision is a New York City in which every girl feels empowered to lead in her community, the workplace, and the world. GSGNY has become a hub for innovation within the broader Girl Scouts movement, presenting new ways to engage and inspire the next generation of young leaders. Position Description This role is responsible for generating youth leads and following up on recruitment efforts from both virtual and in-person engagements. The primary focus is to engage with specific target markets and, in collaboration with Service Units, coordinate in-person recruitment opportunities, build relationships with schools, and support the launch of new troops. The impact of this position is to strengthen Girl Scouts’ visibility, increase new member registrations, and expand partnerships with schools and community-based organizations in the communities we serve. Travel may be required across the five boroughs, including the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. Key Responsibilities As a vital member of our team, you will: • Drive Growth & Membership: Generate 150–200 new leads each month, achieve a 20% conversion rate from individually registered members, and help launch 15–20 new troops per year (subject to adjustment based on assigned quarterly goals). • Bring STEM to Life: Support the delivery of our STEM programs, sparking curiosity and hands-on learning for girls. • Lead Community Engagement: Plan, promote, and facilitate events with schools and community partners to deliver the Girl Scouting Experience, including Open Houses and other engaging activities. Metrics are determined by fiscal year goals and are subject to change. • Expand Outreach: Build excitement by connecting with targeted market areas and hosting in-person and virtual engagement opportunities to generate interest and participation. • Foster Partnerships: Collaborate with community-based organizations and school administrators to organize and lead impactful engagement events. • Support New Members: Follow up with prospective families after events through personalized calls and emails, providing troop and program details as well as registration support. • Ensure Data Accuracy: Track leads, maintain up-to-date records, and meet data health metrics by entering information quickly and precisely. • Adapt to Evolving Initiatives: Adjust strategies and priorities as needed to support new membership incentives introduced by the council, granted through partner organizations, or announced by GSUSA. • Deliver on Strategic Goals: Achieve all measurable outcomes as assigned, aligned, and driven by council-wide strategic goals. • Contribute to Team Success: Take on additional duties as needed to support organizational goals and ensure every girl has access to the Girl Scout experience. Transportation Requirements (Preferred But Not Required) • Access to a car and the ability to drive may be necessary to travel to various community events and partner locations. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Qualifications • Education: Associate’s degree or at least 3 years of related experience. • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience (bilingual preferred). • Strong aptitude for working with database systems (e.g., Salesforce, Looker). • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. • Sound judgment in maintaining data integrity, analyzing/presenting issues, and organizing workload. • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical team members. • Collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally and connect processes to broader organizational goals. • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information. • Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced experience, including CMS database management. • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. • Strong interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural differences among staff, girls, and volunteers, demonstrated through an anti-racist lens. • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
