Assistant Staff Accountant Location Nashville, TN (Metrocenter area) : Description: Position Purpose: Provide superior customer service by helping with the daily flow of the accounting processes. Provides accounting support for both internal customers & the Accounting team to ensure all goals are met which includes processing new owners 3-4 days, all invoices are processed 2-3 days & 98% of financials completed by the 15th of the month. This is a very fast paced work environment and duties are repetitive in nature. Primary/Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Pay all insurance invoices for all associations. Ensure proper carrier is being paid & all associations have active policies. • Help with monthly bank reconciliation. • Back up to accounts payable process. • Help answer accounting questions for internal customers concerning any insurance billings. • Any other duties or tasks as needed. Requirements: Knowledge & Skill Requirements: • Associate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent industry experience. • Experience with HOA or property Management accounting preferred. • Extremely detail oriented with excellent analytical skills. • Ability to work independently on multiple activities, showing appropriate level of prioritization and escalation skills. • Ability to work accurately and timely processing data in a fast paced, high-volume environment. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to perform consistently in an extremely fast paced environment. • Proficient in Excel and accounting programs as well as above average computer skills. Physical Demands & Work Environment: • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
