SUMMARY: The Product Research Analyst will be responsible for leading the idea generation and idea screening phase of the product management process to increase product profitability, revenue, decrease expenses, and improve member experiences. This includes identifying, gathering and organizing member insights, focus groups, internal innovation ideas, marketplace analyses and competitive trends to drive the product innovation and enhancement pipeline strategy. Collaborates with Product Managers by providing fact-based research to develop and execute a new product, process or pricing strategy, or to enhance an existing product, process or pricing strategy. Assist in measuring the effectiveness of a product strategy and marketing and provide methods to determine overall effectiveness, relevant to cost and marketplace penetration of products launched. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead the analysis of new strategic capabilities that leverage and/or extend existing product solutions, create new product solutions and drive the overall ideation effort. • Engage in all aspects and phases of new product ideation, creation, design and product market potential analyses for Georgia’s Own product lines. This includes high-level product requirements, market requirements, member requirements, evaluation and recommendation to Product Managers of the prioritization of requirements, product enhancements. • Attend relevant on-line webinars, seminars, and extensively research product ideas relevant to current and new product market opportunities for the Credit Union to increase revenue, profitability and delight the member experience. Write reports from attending webinars, seminars and industry related publications for Product Managers to read and evaluate. • Maintain weekly reporting, Idea Generation & Screening Documentation, Product Ideation Canvas Boards. • Effectively articulate basis of new product development and existing product enhancements to meet profitability goals. Maintain Product Idea Generation Pipeline. • Analyzing potential buy or partner relationships for product lines. Exploring and working with third parties to identify partnership opportunities to drive innovation. • As needed, contribute to the business case identification and development process • Proactively evolve product features, efficiency, quality, pricing strategies and methods, profitability, and technology-based experiences (mobile, tablet, online). • Champion all product ideation activities, from strategic plan goals to daily, tactical execution across the company. • Participating in and shaping new innovation processes, practices, experiences to improve the overall innovation operating model for the Product Management department. • Remain knowledgeable of changing laws and regulations. • Other duties as may be assigned. EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or equivalent work experience • At least 2 years of financial services industry experience • At least 1 year of experience and knowledge of product management or related disciplines (e.g. project management, product marketing, and business analysis). • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word • (Preferred) Knowledge of consumer lending, mortgage lending, credit card payments ecosystem, checking, deposit and wealth management products helpful. As well as mobile, table, web, IVR, and in person branch experiences in the credit union/banking/financial services industry. OTHER JOB QUALIFICATIONS • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence, and collaborate across the organization. • Exceptional writing, presentation, negotiation skills. Sample writing documents may be requested. • Ability to operate as a leader with humility. • Passionate about the member experience – whether in person or through mobile devices. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial profit and loss statements • Attention to detail, analytical, problem solving, and strong organizational, time management abilities. • Team player, independent thinker, motivated and self-starter. Strong creativity, with a passion to transform the business. • Ability to work well under pressure while handling multiple projects and priorities. • Willingness to work extended hours as business needs dictate. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation. Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs. Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required.
