Full Description

Role: Senior Ruby on Rails Architect Location: Austin, TX / Remote Duration: 6+ months Contract to hire USC/GC Over all 14+ years Look for locals. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, production-ready Ruby on Rails code. • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code adhering to best practices • Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the engineering team • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Ruby on Rails and related technologies • Proactively identify and address potential technical issues and bottlenecks • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and infrastructure Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience as a Ruby on Rails Architect • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to anticipating edge cases & clarifying requirements • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns • Strong knowledge of relational database design, SQL, and performance optimization • Strong debugging skills with the ability to find and solve problems with minimal documentation or outside help. • Proven ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code • Experience with testing frameworks like RSpec • Experience with deployment and infrastructure tools like AWS, Kubernetes, or similar • Experience with version control systems like GitHub • Experience with building RESTFul APIs, testing using Postman • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Passion for building impactful products and a desire to make a difference Bonus Points: • Experience with API development and integration • Experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript and React • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment Remote Skills: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Application Programming Interface (API), Best Practices, Code Reviews, Communication Skills, Consulting, Continuous Deployment/Delivery, Continuous Improvement, Continuous Integration, Database Design, Debugging Skills, Design Patterns Programming Methodologies, Documentation, GitHub, Mail Services, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Performance Tuning/Optimization, Problem Solving Skills, Process Improvement, Product Design, Product Development, Quality Management, REST (Representational State Transfer), RSpec, React.js, Ruby on Rails, SQL (Structured Query Language), Source Code/Configuration Management (SCM), Startup, Team Player, Testing, User Interface/Experience (UI/UX), Writing Skills About the Company: Georgia Tek Systems
