Through our academically talented faculty and outstanding staff, Perimeter College is strategically poised to continue the success of educating students that began more than 60 years ago when it first opened its doors in 1964 in Clarkston, Georgia.Since then, the college has grown to include four additional campuses throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area (Alpharetta, Decatur, Dunwoody, Newton) and become a pioneer in the online learning space, while also offering more than 30 pathways leading to an associate degree. seeking (3)dedicated and experienced Sponsor Funded -Administrative - Student Development Specialist, Sr. The Academic Success Coach works as part of the academic team within the mathematics department to administer individualized student assessments to at-risk students enrolled in introductory mathematics courses, analyze assessment and performance data, and use the data to effectively employ professional academic coaching methodologies and other strategies to equip students with enhanced non-cognitive skills leading to increased academic success and retention. The Academic success coach meets with students regularly, on an individual or group basis, to develop and monitor pathways to success while serving as a trusted resource for students to ensure they understand the academic process. The position requires excellent leadership, organizations, and communication skills, the ability to collect and analyze a variety of data, monitor student academic performance, collaborate with other team members to develop and deliver workshops and small group activities, collaborate and coordinate with other college services and programs to foster a supportive and informed cross-functional approach to student support and model ethical behaviors. The Academic Coach must possess an understanding and sensitivity to the multicultural differences / needs of students and have experience providing coaching and / or counseling to low-income, first-generation, academically under-served, under-prepared students in a post-secondary setting. In addition, the Coach must have computer skills and experience with educational technologies, learning software, and online assessment tools such as Blumen, Banner, or other student database systems, as well as great communication skills, willingness to work with others, the ability to complete on-the-job training, and perform other duties as assigned or required.
