Job Details Job Location: 7500 - Skokie, IL Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly Job Shift: First Shift Job Category: Manufacturing Description SUMMARY Roaster Cook will operate Roaster and DVU system to produce quality product according to customer requirements. The process entails the following, daily set up (Roaster, DVU), maintain 5s (clean and organize), changeovers (SSOP), Batch Making (mixing ingredients, per specifications), packing (labeling, form boxes, per specifications) HACCP forms, consumption of material and RAF reporting. Roaster Cook will communicate and document efficiency standards while reporting inefficiencies to supervisor. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Fill out material worksheets and production reports for all production in the roasting. Start at 5:00 A.M. daily to ignite roasters, make sugar solution for kitchen, and prepare boxes for production. Monitor corn oil tank inventory and notify supervisor when low. Report any problems (equipment, material shortages, formulas, and employees) to the supervisor as they occur. Run production efficiently. Keep entire work area clean and organized at all times. Follow department shut down procedure. Train and instruct temporary employees. Report all ingredient scrap on material worksheet and all finished good scrap on production report following the scrap reporting procedure. Turn work order packets into supervisor upon completion of the scheduled quantity. Fill out inventory ID sheets for all completed pallets, attach to pallet and shrink-wrap Fill out movement tickets per movement ticket procedure. Collect all labor reports from temporary employees and turn into supervisor at end of shift along with material worksheets. Report total amount of finished product produced. Fill out log sheets and follow all special customer related procedures. Follow all procedures related to job responsibilities. Qualifications Physical/Environmental Requirements: Standing on a concrete floor. Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform). Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Required to work weekends during peak season. Required to work mandatory overtime when needed. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma Basic math skills, such as telling time, addition/subtraction/multiplication/division of whole numbers and fractions. Basic reading skills, such as reading labels, formulas, directions/ instructions and completing basic forms. The ability to convert measures into weights. Knowledge of percentage and ratios. The ability to communicate effectively in English. Mechanical aptitude
