Overview We are seeking an experienced GitLab expert with a strong background in Agile methodologies to configure and optimize our GitLab Ultimate instance for multiple projects. The engagement is divided into two phases, with Phase 1 as the primary focus. Phase 1: Core Setup and Issue Migration •Migrate issues from our legacy Issue Tracking System (ITS) to GitLab. • Configure essential Agile features, including: • A structured product backlog using epics, issues, and labels. • Sprint planning and management via milestones, issue boards, and burndown charts. • Custom dashboards and reporting tools to monitor progress. • Roadmap views (including Gantt charts, Kanban boards) for high-level tracking. • Structure projects for easier documentation and committing of documentation files (screen mockups, computation sheets, etc). • Setup GitLab’s Service Desk for support and SDLC approvals. • Assist developers with transition. Phase 2: Advanced Automation (Lower Priority) • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment. • Set up additional automations as needed, such as integrations with external tools or custom workflows. Requirements • Proven expertise in GitLab Ultimate, including hands-on experience with Agile implementations for distributed teams managing multiple projects with independent timelines. • Ability to provide examples of prior work, such as case studies, repositories, or references demonstrating similar setups. • Ability to join the group via MS teams multiple times a week for work sessions. Big Plus • Proficient in GitLab’s GraphQL • Proficient in Python, JS or similar automation scripting • Relevant certifications, such as GitLab Certified Associate or GitLab Certified CI/CD Associate or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or similar.
