Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years in university or non-profit grants management, knowledge of NIH funding, financial accounting skills, and proficiency in Excel.
Job Description: • Responsible for reviewing, negotiating and administering externally funded research grants and contracts • Serve as the primary liaison with external sponsors • Review and submit proposals on behalf of the university • Set up new awards and process changes to existing awards in Georgetown’s financial system • Support all aspects of a grant or contract award, from cradle to grave including proposal submission, award set-up, award management and assistance with closeout activities • Provide leadership, training and oversight of the grants and contracts manager in their cluster Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree • 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or other non-profit grants management role • Knowledge of NIH funding mechanisms, including R01, P01, P30, T32 and foundation proposals • Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure • Demonstrated financial accounting skills to enable financial and programmatic report production, and should include a high level of proficiency in Excel. • Proven experience with financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards as they pertain to grants and contracts management.
