Assistant Corporate Distribution & Warehousing Manager Job Description Job Summary Our company is seeking a talented Assistant Distribution & Warehousing Manager to join our Supply Chain team. This position will assist in overseeing the effective and safe operation of our organization's distribution centers and logistics processes, which includes the movement, storage, and distribution of goods. The role involves coordinating warehouse operations, transportation logistics, inventory management, and staffing to ensure products are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate must be a strategic and detail-oriented leader with expertise in logistics, warehousing, and staff management to optimize distribution and logistics processes and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Support daily distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, picking, shipping, and delivery activities. • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, efficiency, cost control, and regulatory compliance. • Oversee and support initiatives focused on productivity, safety, quality, and service. Logistics & Inventory Management • Monitor and analyze operational KPIs (e.g., order accuracy, cost per unit, on-time delivery, inventory turns) to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. • Monitor regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy and minimize shrink. • Develop strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and enhance fulfillment performance. • Assist in optimizing inbound/outbound transportation routes to maximize efficiency and reduce freight spend. Vendor & Equipment Management • Contribute to contract negotiations with freight carriers, 3PL partners, and other logistics providers. • Support the selection, maintenance, and replacement of material‑handling equipment, vehicles, and warehouse systems. People Leadership • Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse associates, drivers, and operational staff. • Schedule and coordinate staffing to ensure adequate coverage and operational continuity. • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing guidance to promote growth, accountability, and engagement. • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Cross‑Functional Collaboration • Coordinate closely with Sales, Procurement, Customer Service, and other internal partners to support seamless end‑to‑end supply chain operations. • Support communication and alignment across distribution centers and corporate departments. Requirements: Requirements • A bachelor's degree in business management, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. • 3–5+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution role, with prior management experience preferred. • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. • Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex logistical details and processes. • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Oracle EBS, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills for analyzing supply chain data and solving logistical challenges. • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Self-motivated, energetic individual who can work independently and complete required tasks • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to manage a broad range of personalities, both internally and externally.
