Role Overview: As an Associate Data Center Technician - Night, you will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting the infrastructure of a major professional network's data center. This position ensures the smooth operation of hardware and network systems during night shifts, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of the data center. What You'll Do: - You will monitor and maintain data center equipment, including servers, storage devices, and network hardware. - You will perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance. - You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues promptly. - You will assist with the installation and configuration of new equipment. - You will document all maintenance activities and incidents accurately. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data center operations. - You will adhere to safety and security protocols to protect data center assets. - You will provide after-hours support to minimize downtime and service interruptions. What You Bring: - Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in data center or IT hardware support roles. - Familiarity with server hardware, networking equipment, and cabling standards. - Basic understanding of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision. - Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in a 24/7 data center environment. - Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or similar. - Knowledge of virtualization technologies and cloud infrastructure. - Prior experience with ticketing systems and IT service management (ITSM) tools.
