Manage and execute an annual fellowship program including planning sessions, coordinating speakers and vendors, managing budgets, and fostering participant development.
Experience in program and event management with budget oversight, strong communication skills, and preferably nonprofit experience.
The Fellowship Manager works closely with and directly reports to the GWV Operations Director to create and manage an annual cohort of programming for young West Virginians. This role focuses on building relationships among Fellows, growing their skills, and fostering their love of West Virginia and their desire to call it home. This role is a combination of designing, planning, implementing, and managing the many moving parts of a successful Fellowship program. This includes but is not limited to planning and executing Fellowship sessions and providing support; cultivating and maintaining speaker, presenter and vendor relations; and meeting annual timelines and goals. FELLOWSHIP MANAGER DUTIES: Program Management and Development Manage the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of Generation West Virginia In coordination with Director of Development, help coordinate a program sustainability plan and opportunities for funding sponsorships Manage an annual budget for the Fellowship Track long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program Facilitate a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement Manage relationships with a range of partners across the state, including sponsors, community-based organizations, nonprofits, employers, and community leaders Program Execution Help coordinate all aspects of Fellowship retreats where fellows benefit from professional development opportunities, peer-to-peer support, and experiential learning in communities across the state. This includes, but is not limited to: Managing and booking food, lodging, and activities Planning and coordinating professional development activities and speakers Facilitating relationship-building opportunities and sessions Engaging a diverse group of guest speakers and training sessions Supporting Fellows in their leadership and development Manage the annual application and selection process Work with Career Connector Manager to grow relationships with West Virginia employers who may be interested in utilizing the Fellowship for employees Work with Marketing and Communications Manager to develop communications and marketing materials Program Oversight Collaborate with the Director of Operations to communicate program updates and impact to management and funders, including preparing content for grant reports Ensure the program operates within the approved budget Monitor the program activities on a regular basis Experience and Skills Experience with program management - required Experience in event planning and project management within a budget - required Nonprofit experience - preferred Strong written and verbal communication and ability to represent Generation West Virginia to various stakeholders in various settings Attention to detail and organization Experience with participant tracking platforms, donor platforms is preferred You’d be great for this role if you’re: A confident communicator: You are comfortable reaching out to potential partners from around the state to engage them with the Fellowship. The starting salary for this role is $50,000 to $55,000. This is a one-year position with an opportunity for extension based on job performance and funding support. As a statewide organization, we have staff located all across the state and our day-to-day operations run remotely. This position must be done remotely, anywhere in West Virginia. Travel for this position will be required, and mileage reimbursement is available. Occasional weekend in-person sessions will be required. Position will be posted until filled.
