Job Description The Role The Staff Software Engineer - Artificial Intelligence is responsible for supporting and reinforcing the adoption of AI Software Engineering across the Manufacturing IT organization with the goal of establishing significant improvements in the Manufacturing space relative to manufacturing productivity and efficiency. The position will drive the identification, evaluation, and adoption of rapid, iterative, and incremental computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning software solutions together with Junior and Principal AI Engineers and our Manufacturing Engineering business partners. We Are Looking for a Staff Software Engineer - Artificial Intelligence Who: Has a strong drive for excellence Challenges themselves and their peers Thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments Demonstrates a strong work ethic Has a strong ability and willingness to learn Excels in data science and deep learning Desires to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems Leads and generates technical solutions, including specifying requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development, and testing for current, new, and major programs Performs complex design analysis Specifies and balances system requirements Provides, communicates, and supports common best practices within the software community What You'll Do: Define and drive adoption of GM Manufacturing AI capabilities Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline current AI and GM Robotics Engineering processes in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering SMEs Design and develop ML solutions for real-world environments Develop and implement computer vision solutions in real-world applications Interpret research artifacts and translate them into deployable solutions Conduct simulation activities Develop data visualization solutions Design scalable solutions that minimize operational overhead Ensure end-to-end system and interface understanding so solutions fit within architectural constraints Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Data Science In-depth knowledge and experience in software development Extensive experience designing, training, testing, and deploying deep learning models for vision applications In-depth experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or Keras 8+ years of software engineering experience 6+ years of AI, ML, and/or data science experience In-depth experience with Ops, MLOps, and/or LLMOps 4+ years of deep learning vision experience What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): PhD Publications In-depth knowledge of ML fundamentals Demonstrated experience developing and deploying ML solutions for real-world applications Experience with cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes (K8), and HPC platforms Knowledge of Java/C#, Python, SQL, and C/C++ Strong analytical skills and the ability to think outside the box • Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paidin accordance withapplicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positionslocatedoutside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. • The salary range for this roleis160,200to333,400.The actual basesalarya successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. • Bonus Potential: An incentivepayprogram offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
