The Role: General Motors LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Manager to lead our network engineering team. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our global network infrastructure, supporting GM's innovative automotive technologies and business operations. What You'll Do: - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. - Manage the day-to-day operations of GM's enterprise network, including WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, and data center networks, ensuring optimal uptime and performance. - Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure projects, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. - Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure security, compliance, and operational efficiency. - Conduct performance management for team members, including goal setting, regular feedback, and professional development planning. - Identify and resolve complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures. - Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs) for network-related services and equipment. - Stay abreast of emerging network technologies and industry trends, recommending strategic enhancements to the network infrastructure. - Collaborate with other IT departments to ensure seamless integration of network services with applications and systems. What You'll Need: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in network engineering and management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. - Proven experience in Coaching or Mentoring network professionals, fostering their growth and development. - Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively with Cross-Functional Team Leadership across various departments and initiatives. - Strong track record in Performance Management, including setting expectations, evaluating performance, and providing constructive feedback to achieve team goals. - In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), technologies (SD-WAN, VPN, MPLS), and security best practices. - Experience with network monitoring and management tools. - Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP) are highly desirable. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
