MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As an AI/ML Engineer Principal, your work at GDIT will be directly aligned with the mission of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. You will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering AI/ML solutions that enable faster decision-making, enhanced situational awareness, and improved operational readiness. • Lead/Manage/Support the development of AI/ML architectures for fleet operations, cyber defense, and logistics, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with DoD standards. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including data scientists, systems engineers, and enterprise architects-to translate complex requirements into robust, deployable solutions. • Drive key outcomes such as reduced data processing times, increased predictive accuracy, and accelerated AI model deployment across command networks. • Utilize cutting-edge technologies such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and secure multi-party computation to meet the Navy's and Marine Corps' stringent security and performance requirements. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The AI Engineer Sr Principal must have: Education: Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or another STEM field. Experience: 10+ years of related experience AI/ML engineering, solution architecture, and system integration, with a proven track record in defense or federal government environments. Technical skills: • Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn). • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes). • Experience with secure data pipelines, encryption, and compliance with DoD security controls. • Ability to develop and present AI proposals, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and implementation roadmaps. Security clearance level: Eligibility for TOP SECRET/SCI with an active SECRET clearance at a minimum ship required Role requirements: • Excellent consultative selling skills; ability to engage stakeholders, identify new opportunities, and articulate the value of AI/ML solutions. • Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to distill complex requirements into actionable deliverables and guide multidisciplinary teams. • Willingness to travel (up to 25%) and work on-site at Navy/Marine Corps facilities as needed. The likely salary range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
